Stephanie was one of the kindest and genuine people I knew. She had such a zest for life and was a ray of sunshine. Stephanie and I were sorority sisters. One of my favorite memories of her is when she talked me into going on the All Greek Ski Trip to Heavenly. She was fearless on the slopes! We had many good times.
My heart goes out to Ellie, Lily, and Jack. May her light live on through her precious children. I am so deeply saddened and sorry for your loss. I know Stephanie will live on in our hearts and through our actions of doing good, we will honor her.
On December 12, 2010 (Sunday), Compassionate Friends has a candle lighting around the world in all time zones. Light a candle from 7pm to 8pm. There will be a continuous light around the world for all those who have lost a child or special person. I will be lighting a candle for Stephanie (and my twin sister Kristi) at 7pm in California.
May Stephanie's light always shine and touch others.
I encourage you to join me in this, wherever you are.

What an unspeakable tragedy. Though I have not seen her for some number of years, it is impossible to forget Roller's disarming smile and genuine love for life. She was a true friend. I am so deeply saddened at this news. The world was lucky to have her and is a lesser place now that she is gone. Aaron, my thoughts are with you.
With much love,
Ernie

Dear Stephanie,
I pray for your family to find peace in your absence. God gives a life and God takes a life. There are no answers to our questions why one is taken and why one is left. The journey is hard and often times treacherous, often times it feels like it is all uphill. But you can rest now, God is with you and you are with God. Yet even in your eternal rest with God, there is still work to be done on earth. May your Spirit continue to guide and direct those who have been placed with the responsibility for finding answers to your life. May God be with your family. Amen.

My husband, children and I are praying for all of you - that God will continue to wrap his glorious hands around each of you - especially Steph's children - in comfort at the loss of one of His most beautiful creations. Thank you, Cathy, for raising such a free-spirit. We mothers can learn so much from your beautifully written testimony about the sacredness of motherhood and of life.

We are so saddened. Stephanie came into our lives about 20 years ago, she did fit right in with this North Dakotan-Danish family, always pleasant, so sweet and helpful. We have always stayed in touch, even after moving away from California and settling in Colorado.
Our thoughts will be with you today, holding your hands at the Memorial...... Steph will forever have a special place in our hearts.

We are so sorry to hear about this. It was a shock when we heard she was missing and an even bigger shock hearing she was no longer with us. It is such a tragedy for a woman this young with young children. We extend our sympathy to both the Ernie Roller family and the Bruner family. May she rest in peace.

The world has lost a beautiful woman. I am so saddened by this. Stephanie is one of the most warmest and genuine people I have ever known. She was my roommate, sorority sister, and friend at UCI. She was always generous with her time, kind in her words, appreciative of her friends, and extremely approachable and warm hearted. She was a gentle soul. We lost touch for a number of years after college but reunitied through email when I was pregnant with my first child. I was having a difficult pregnancy and Stephanie was a wealth of knowledge and support for me. Even after years of no contact she jumped in to be a great friend even though she was living in CO and I in CA. I have valued her friendship and regret to not have met her beautiful family. She will be missed. My prayers for the family. God bless you.
Clara
